Choosing the dealer: The dealer distributes the cards to everyone and is the first player to throw down a card. This person can be selected by who’s birthday is the next to happen. The dealer is also referred to as the person whose turn it is during the gameplay.
The setup: The dealer gives each person 7 cards from the deck. The dealer then places the deck face down in the center of the players. The dealer flips the top card over, and the game begins. If the card is a DJ or Police Card the card gets randomly replaced in the deck.
Game Play: Players take turns matching headphone colors placed onto a central stack; these are called “Party-Goer Cards.” These cards could have the same left and right color or two different colors. Players take turns putting the same color on top of each other. If a headphone has two colors, no other cards can be stacked upon it.
When a two-color headphone is played on a stack, the next person can choose to create a new stack with any Patry-goer card. However the side that the stacks touch, must have the same color.
There is also a “headphones” card, which consists of three headphones of each color. This can be played in place of any red, blue, or green single-party go-ower card. The next play can stack on top of this card any color they want. The color is NOT set by the player.
These are acceptable ways to position the cards with colors:

If the player does not have a card to play, they must pick up until they obtain a card that can be played. They may play this card after picking it up. If the deck runs out of cards, reshuffle the played, unplayable cards.
A player must not pick up a card if they do have a card that can be played.
There are also DJ cards in the deck, these are NOT played on any stack but are intended to interact with the players making them do things. When this card is played the player must pick up a card from the deck. This means this card cannot be used at the end to win.
Finally there is the police card. When this is played, the stacks all combine into one, as to almost shut the party down. This card is now the top of only stack and the player can choose what color can be played next.
